The Holy Spirit is referred to in Scripture as the Spirit of God, the Spirit of Christ, and the Comforter. The Holy Spirit is in the world to draw persons to Christ and to make them aware of their need for a personal relationship with God. From the time a person has turned over the control of his or her life to Jesus Christ as their Savior, the Holy Spirit takes residence in their heart and life. He gives the believer supernatural power to have victory over the dominating presence of sin, to do great things for God, and to boldly share the good news of Jesus Christ with others.
